Frank T. Lin, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and entrepreneur, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2024 in Alamo, CA. He was 82.
Frank was born on December 12, 1941, in Nantou, Taiwan. He earned an undergraduate degree from National Chung Hsing University before relocating to Winnipeg, Manitoba, where he received a BS and MS in Animal Science from the University of Manitoba.
Frank worked in the Animal Science department at the University of Manitoba until 1982. That year, he and his family moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, where Frank's entrepreneurial spirit flourished. He purchased an ice cream store in Alamo, CA, with his wife, Cathy. In 1988, Frank and Cathy bought Town and Country Cleaners in Alamo, where they worked together for 25 years. Frank was also involved in international business ventures connecting buyers and suppliers and forging relationships across the globe. Frank’s love of travel took Frank and Cathy around the world making new friends along the way.
Frank is survived by his wife of 58 years, Cathy; daughters Patty Lin and Charlotte Cassidy; granddaughters Genevieve and Madeleine Cassidy; his brothers, Fang (Stephen) Mow Lin and Fang (Frank) Kwan Lin; and his sister, Su-Hui Lin. He was predeceased by his parents and older sister.
Frank is remembered for his kindness, integrity and living by Christ’s example. He saw the best in others and always enjoyed a good joke. His legacy of generosity, compassion, and love for friends and family live on through his daughters and granddaughters.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Cornerstone Fellowship, 348 N. Canyons Pkwy, Livermore, at 11:00 am. Reception afterwards.
