Vincent Anthony LaRosa
Sept. 14, 1941-July 31, 2025
Tracy, California

Vincent LaRosa, 83, passed away peacefully at home with his family and pets by his side on July 31, 2025, in Tracy, California.

Born on September 14, 1941, in New York City, Vincent—affectionately known as Vince or Vinny—spent his early years in Manhattan. He attended Lincoln High School and later pursued higher education at Chabot College in San Leandro, where he earned an Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood Development.

From 1961 to 1964, Vincent served honorably in the United States Navy aboard the USS Salsbury Sound. Following his military service, he embarked on a long and dedicated career with the Pleasanton School District, working as a custodian for over thirty years. His strong work ethic and dependable presence left a lasting impression on colleagues and students alike. In addition to his full-time role, Vincent also worked as a part-time real estate investor.

Family was at the heart of Vincent’s life. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 43 years, Brenda Joyce LaRosa, and their son Robert “Robbie.” He is survived by his son James “Jim” and Jim’s fiancée Jacqueline; Jacqueline’s children Andrew and Brianna; his nephew Charles and niece Laurena, whom he helped raise; and his grandson Ryan, along with Ryan’s wife and children.

Vincent had a lifelong love for animals and supported numerous rescue organizations throughout the years. His home was always filled with the companionship of pets. He leaves behind his cherished dog Little Boy and two cats, Stripes and Smokey Jr.

An avid bowler, Vincent was an active member of a local bowling league where he formed many enduring friendships. He enjoyed attending Oakland A’s games and other local sporting events with friends. Movie outings with family were another favorite pastime. Known for his appreciation of buffet restaurants, Vincent took pride in knowing all the best spots within a 45-minute drive and delighted in sharing them with others. He would never pass up an opportunity to enjoy a Costco hotdog. He also cherished traveling with family on vacations filled with sightseeing adventures. Among those closest to him was a group of dear friends he fondly referred to as his “Lunch Crew,” with whom he shared countless meals and treasured memories.

A Memorial Service will be held on August 15, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 11:45 AM at Graham-Hitch Mortuary, located at 4167 First Street in Pleasanton. Vincent’s warmth, loyalty, and friendship will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those whose lives he touched.
