Raymond J. Lopez
Sept. 2, 1966-July 14, 2025
Pleasanton, California
Raymond J. Lopez, age 58, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Ray is survived by his devoted wife, Armida, whose love he held onto with every beat of his heart. Together they built a life filled with joy, mischief, and unwavering family bonds. He was the proud father of four children: Lessette, Crystal, Kristina, and Danny, as well as a cherished father-in-law to Richard. His spirit lives on in his three adored grandchildren: Salvador, Camila, and Ariana, who each brought a special light to his later years.
Known since high school as the class clown, Ray never lost his playful spirit. His life was filled with jokes, silly nicknames, and spontaneous laughter. He had an unmatched ability to brighten any room even if it was with a groan-worthy dad joke. If Ray was around, you were smiling, whether you wanted to or not.
A proud Raiders fan and longtime youth soccer coach, Raymond spent many years supporting his children from the sidelines and guiding young athletes with patience and heart. He found joy in the simple pleasures…fishing trips, cruising on his Harley, and working on model cars, which he loved building and painting in his free time.
He had a unique knack for collecting all kinds of odds and ends, often stashed in his beloved blue truck, which he refused to part with. It was just one of many things that made him authentically Ray.
Ray’s absence leaves a hole that can’t be filled, but his laughter, love, and legacy will echo in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Ray would be greeted in heaven by his Dad Tony Lopez, Mom Carol Lopez, sisters Cathy Funderburk, Debbie Kane, brothers Mike Lopez and Johnny Lopez.
Ride free, Dad. We’ll miss you forever.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Graham-Hitch Mortuary in Pleasanton, California. Friends and loved ones are warmly invited to celebrate and honor his life.
