Philip Erich Scholz of Pleasanton, CA, died tragically on Monday, Jan. 20, 2014 in a train accident in Santa Clara, CA. He was 35 years old. Philip was born in Seattle, WA, and graduated from Shorewood High School in Shoreline, WA. He earned a degree in Psychology from Santa Clara University in 2001. Upon graduation Philip began his career at NVIDIA, a Silicon Valley computer graphics company, where he was a senior marketing manager. Philip married Emily Mounce on April 28, 2006. Philip is survived by his wife, Emily Scholz, of Pleasanton, CA; parents Roberta and Fritz Scholz of Edmonds, WA; and brother Christian Scholz of Fremont, CA. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 10 at the Veterans Memorial Building, 301 Main St., Pleasanton.
