Josephine Frances Bradley
June 7, 1925-Aug. 28, 2026
Pleasanton, California

Josephine “Josie” Frances Bradley passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, at the age of 101. She was born in Danville, CA, on June 7, 1925, daughter of Joseph and Annie Foster. Josie grew up in Danville where she met Brent, the love of her life, who served as a proud Marine during World War II before they married and started their family. They raised their seven children in San Leandro before moving to Pleasanton, CA, where they made their home, the place where family gathered together for decades.

Josie is preceded in death by her husband, Brent Bradley, Sr., and her two sons, Mark Edward Bradley and Scott Alan Bradley. She is survived by children Brent Bradley, Jr., Sharon Clarke, Glen Bradley, Barbara (Ron) Flores, David (Carrie) Bradley, and daughters-in-law Lisa Bradley (widow of the late Scott Bradley), and Debi (Ron) May (widow of the late Mark Bradley).

She leaves a loving legacy of 16 grandchildren: Craig, Colleen, Tim, Brian, Michael, Susan, Ryan, Garrett, Thomas, Sarah, Trevor, Chase, Matthew, Nathan, Forrest and Nicholas, as well as many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Josie was a happy homemaker who lived life to the fullest. Her many interests and hobbies over the years included trailer camping across the US, world travel, golf, volunteering, sewing, knitting, baking, reading, hosting holiday meals, making many beautiful and treasured quilts, and crocheting beanies for preemie babies. It’s safe to say what she enjoyed most of all was playing bridge with her friendly foursome which she did until the age of 100 – and she was GOOD!

Josie Bradley will be remembered as a very kind, caring, and loving person, rooted in her faith and church. She will be truly missed by family and friends and all who knew her – until we meet again.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 3999 Bernal Avenue, Pleasanton. Burial will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery.
