Don Marlow Kvale
1933-June 28, 2025
Pleasanton, California

Don Marlow Kvale peacefully passed away at the age of 91 under the care of hospice with his family by his side. Born in Minnesota to Edward and Theline, Don lived a life filled with many blessings. A proud veteran, Don honorably served in the U.S. Air Force Intelligence, before pursuing his business degree at UC Berkeley. He then embarked on a distinguished 30+ year career with Shell Oil Company. He is survived by his wife, the love of his life of 58 years (Nora). Together, in Pleasanton’s Birdland, they cultivated a welcoming, happy, harmonious home and beautiful garden retreat brimming with flowers, fruits, vegetables and lots of laughter. Their home and garden played host to a multitude of celebrations with their three daughters and their husbands (Kathy (Alex), Karen (Paul), Ileen (Chris)) and nine grandchildren. Don also leaves behind nieces, nephews and countless friends who cherished their time with him. He had a zest for life, evident in his passions for cycling, swimming in refreshing mountain lakes, traveling the world and vacationing around the nation with his entire family. He will continue to be lovingly remembered and admired for his unwavering strength of character, steadfast faith, fun, positive outlook and engaging sense of humor. He truly was the “life of the party.” He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and his brothers Alan and Dean.
